Think Big, Grow Bigger: Embracing the Entrepreneurial Mindset for Small Business Success

Embracing the Entrepreneurial Mindset for Small Business Success

"The biggest mistake a small business can make is to think like a small business."

– Aruna Bhayana

In the world of entrepreneurship, mindset is everything.

As small to medium-sized business owners, it's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day operations and lose sight of the bigger picture.

But here's the thing: your mindset can be your greatest asset or your biggest limitation.

The Short Version

  1. Growth Mindset is what you need and already have it!

  2. Innovation is the key and you already have it!

  3. Strategic Planning is easy to do with a few daily hacks!

Embracing an Entrepreneurial Mindset:

  1. Innovation is the Key and you already have it!

Business innovation is not just for corporations and enterprises. In fact, it is much easier for small businesses to innovate because there aren't barriers like shareholders to snag on.

Larger companies struggle to innovate because their business models, organizational structures, and leadership teams encounter challenges when adapting to new modes of thinking and operating. Your size allows you to out-maneuver large businesses and get things right from the beginning.

What's best is: - it's the secret sauce that can set your small business apart.

So how do you know that you already have the innovation keys?

Well.......each day when you are thinking about all things that you want to change in your business to make it better..... you are actually on the path to innovation!

Whether it's thoughts of new products, services, or simply improving your processes, that innovative thinking for growth is fuel to the fire.

Its that Growth Mindset thing that you have as an entrepreneur

The problem for all of us is that we are always doing something else that is arguably and most probably urgently more important and we cannot act!

Each day, brilliant innovative ideas are born and die in this way and our businesses stay the way they are.

So what's missing?

It takes only 4 steps of Strategic Thinking hacks in your day, and you're innovations can result in more profit!

  1. When you have an innovative thought, make a 15 min date of it: put it in in your calendar

  2. Get physically out of your business for your 15 mins date. You don't have to go far but you need to get out and away from your usual working room/chair. Maybe you can stand outside.

  3. In 15 mins you just need to create 3 actions that you need to take to get it done

  4. if you can, do 1 of the actions immediately in your 15 mins

  5. tell someone about it (make yourself accountable)

  6. Make a calendar appointment for yourself to review how you went in now more time than a week

Repeat this process but do not make more appointments than you can handle - the key is to complete the actions for an innovative thought

  1. Don't worry if they do not work out. The key is to follow through with the process and create a habit of acting on innovative thoughts

  2. Don't worry if you realize that after taking 1 or 2 actions that it is not an ideal innovation. It is ok to drop an idea
